The Big 12 Conference and SEC have announced the matchups for the 2019 women’s basketball challenge and the Texas Tech women’s basketball team is set to square off against Ole Miss this season.
The Lady Raiders will play host to the Rebels at United Supermarkets Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 4, for day one of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Exact time and TV designations will be released at a later date.
“We are looking forward to welcoming this elite matchup for the Big 12/SEC challenge,” head coach Marlene Stollings said. “We greatly anticipate our fans filling United Supermarkets Arena in support of our program for this key non-conference game.”
Every team from the Big 12 will participate, while 10 teams from the SEC will take part. The format features five home games on campus sites for each conference per year. The inaugural challenge was held in 2014 and the 10-team format began in 2016. For the past two seasons, the two conferences split the challenge with a 5-5 mark.
