The Red Raiders advance.

The Red Raiders locked down Michigan State last night with a 61-51 victory.

Matt Mooney matched his season high with 22 points, hitting three 3-pointers over a 3-minute span to put the Red Raiders up 13 midway through the second half.

Michigan State leaves coach Tom Izzo’s eighth Final Four with its seventh loss – the 2000 title is still the only time the Spartans have taken it all the way under their veteran coach.

Texas Tech’s opponent will be Virginia.

Kyle Guy calmly made three free throws after a questionable foul call
with 0.6 seconds left, and Virginia survived Auburn’s furious
rally for a 63-62 victory in the national semifinals.

Guy was bumped on the potential winning 3-pointer by the Tigers’ Samir
Doughty and the buzzer sounded, making Auburn think it had won but official James Breeding called a foul and Guy went to the line.

Both teams advancing will be competing for the NCAA Men’s National Championship for the first time in school history.

The national championship game is tomorrow at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
