The dirt has been placed for the last time inside of the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium and Coliseum for the 77th Annual ABC Pro Rodeo, which will take place from Thursday, April 4, to Saturday, April 6.
Tickets are already on sale online, at the door and at Dollar Western Wear at 5011 Slide Rd., Cavender’s at 5620 West Loop 289, Boot Barn at 6002 Slide Rd., Boot City 6645 19th St. and Select-A-Seat at 1501 Mac Davis Lane. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly and there will be a 1:30 p.m. performance on Saturday along with the evening show.
A shuttle buss will be available, starting at 6:15 p.m. for evening performances and at 12:15 p.m. for the single afternoon performance, according to the ABC website. Those who need the shuttle will be picked up at the United Supermarkets Arena parking lot.
Parking is also available in the lots south of the coliseum on the Texas Tech campus. More info can be found here.
Events during the rodeo include saddle bronc riding, bareback horse riding, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.
There is also an opportunity for fan participation, at least for the youngsters. Mutton Bustin’ registration will be hosted inside the coliseum on Tuesday with check-in starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m.
The muttin bustin’ contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. Contestants who want to participate must be between 4-and-7-years-old. Details on the contest can be found here.
This is also the last time the rodeo will take place inside the auditorium-coliseum, as the land will revert back to Texas Tech and will be demolished a few days after the rodeo is over.
