A school bus hit a pedestrian early Tuesday morning, according to Lubbock Police. LPD said it happened in the area of 19th Street and Alcove Avenue around 6:30 a.m.
Police later provided an update and said, “The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
“There were students on the bus at the time of the crash. No one on the bus was injured,” police said.
The bus belongs to Levelland Independent School District. Police have not publicly named the pedestrian yet, but did say she was a woman.
LPD Accident Investigators were called to the scene. They closed the eastbound lanes of 19th Street at Alcove Avenue and at Inler Avenue. Westbound lanes remained open.
