Tech Volleyball defeats Kansas State

 

The Texas Tech Red Raiders hosted the Kansas State Wildcats in front of 1,012 fans inside the United Supermarkets Arena looking to keep their 8-game winning streak alive and to improve to 4-0 in the Big 12.

Tech won in 5 sets in dramatic fashion led by freshman Brooke Kansas who tied her career-high with 23 kills and junior Emily Hill who got her 1000th career kill. In the first set Tech lost 27-25, then bounced back in the 2nd winning 25-20. In the 3rd they came up just short losing 25-19 then in the 4th they won 25-21 forcing a 5th set which they won 15-11. “It was huge win we saw the team really grow and figure things out, from my point of view they didn’t change anything about themselves”. Head Coach Tony Graystone said.

Tech has now a 15-3 overall record and is undefeated in the Big 12 at 4-0 and will look to continue the streak on the road over the next two games as they face TCU October 6th and Oklahoma October 10th and return home October 13th  to host Kansas.
