USAF Blames Engine Trouble For Plane Crash

(San Antonio, TX) — Air Force officials are saying engine failure caused the crash of a trainer plane on Tuesday.

The trainer from the 12th Operations Group crashed around 4 p.m. in a field near Rolling Oaks Mall, less than ten miles from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph.

A spokesman says the interim safety board will examine the engine components to try to figure out what went wrong.

Crew members Lieutenant Colonel Lee Glen and First Lieutenant Nicholas Donato were treated and released for minor injuries Tuesday night at a clinic on the base.
