Texas Tech Soccer falls to Baylor

The Red Raiders hosted the Baylor Bears inside the John Walker Soccer Complex. Tech lost 2-0 in hard fought match.

Tech came out very slow and flat causing them to miss easy opportunities which is unusual for this team. “We figured out a way to miss chance after chance after chance” Head Coach Tom Stone said.

Baylor came out very physical and aggressive and the Red Raiders weren’t able to match it in the first half. Baylor took a 1-0 lead in 30th minute with a goal from Jackie Crowther.

Coming out in the 2nd half Tech came out a lot more aggressive shooting 7 shots, 3 of which seemed to be easy goal opportunities but the Baylor keeper Jennifer Wandt made 3 spectacular saves to keep Tech off the board.

In the 81st minute Crowther scored her 2nd goal of the day to put the game on ice. Tech falls a 9-3-1 overall record and 1-2-1 Big 12 record. The Red Raiders will now be on the road for the next 4 games and won’t return home until October 25th as they will host the Texas Longhorns.
