LUBBOCK — The Texas Red Raiders took on the Florida International Panthers inside the John Walker soccer complex for senior night. In the first half, the Red Raiders came out aggressive with 2 goals in the first 40 minutes by Junior Forward Jade King and Junior Midfielder Savanna Jones.
Tech continued to be in full attack mode for the rest of the match with 18 shots on goal and 6 total goals scored. “We just unloaded in the 2nd half released all that frustration with 4 goals” Head coach Tom Stone said.
4 more Red Raiders were able to celebrate goals tonight in Freshman Defender Cassie Hiatt, Sophomore Forward Kirsten Davis, Junior Forward Demi Koulizkis, and Sophomore Defender Brittany Martin.
Everything seemed to click tonight for the Red Raiders on both sides of the field especially on defense. FIU was only able to take 2 total shots and none of them were on goal.
Tech improves to 6-1 this season and will host the Oregon State Beavers on Sunday at 7 P.M.
