Texas Agencies Now Asking FEMA To Extend Harvey Deadline

(Austin, TX) — The state of Texas is asking FEMA to extend the deadline for Harvey flood victims to file proof of loss claims.

Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd and Commissioner of Insurance Kent Sullivan are asking for an extension of the deadline to December 31st.

The usual deadline is a year after the loss, which is coming up at the end of the month.

Flood victims of Hurricane Sandy and the 2016 floods in Louisiana were granted extensions.

Two Houston-area congressmen recently asked FEMA to extend the deadline.
