Report: Feds Questioning Some Passport Renewals In South Texas

(Brownsville, TX) — The U.S. State Department is reportedly denying passports to certain people claiming to be U.S. citizens in south Texas.

The Washington Post reports hundreds, possibly thousands, of border region residents are being denied a passport because their citizenship is in question.

The government claims there have been some cases where midwives and doctors in Brownsville, McAllen and other Rio Grande Valley communities provided babies delivered in Mexico with documentation as if the children had been born in Texas.
