(Channelview, TX) — A man is under arrest following a standoff at a home-based daycare in Channelview.
The man surrendered to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday afternoon after several hours of negotiations.
The suspect barricaded himself inside the attic of the daycare, and SWAT officers were able to get eight children out of the home.
The man had reportedly fired two shots at a deputy during a traffic stop.
That led to a short chase that ended at the daycare, which police say is run by the suspect’s grandmother.
