Legendary Guitarist For Lynyrd Skynrd Dies

King played both electric and bass guitar for Lynyrd Skynrd and co-wrote the hit song Sweet Home Alabama.

His voice is heard during the intro of the song counting up to three.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006 along with the rest of the band.

King suffered congestive heart failure forcing him to leave Lynrd Skynrd in 1996.

In 2011 he underwent a successful heart transplant.

His family announced his death following a tough battle with cancer.
