LUBBOCK – The Texas Tech soccer team kicked-off their 4th game of the season at home against the Abilene Christian Wildcats inside the John Walker Soccer Complex looking for their 4th win so far this season.
The Red Raiders usually score at least one goal before halftime but today the Wildcats stingy defense prevented that from happening. “They came with a plan to frustrate us and I think it worked pretty well”. Head coach Tom Stone said.
After halftime, the Red Raiders came out a lot more aggressive leading to an amazing goal in the 54th minute by Senior Middle Fielder Jordan Duke to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead.
For the remainder of the game the Red Raiders were tough defensively and did not allow the Wildcats to get any more shots on goal.
Texas Tech will travel to play Boston College September 1st looking for their 5th win of the season, and then after will return home to play Florida International September 7th.
