(Dallas, TX) — Dwaine Caraway is no longer Dallas Mayor Pro-Tem.
He resigned today after admitting to federal corruption charges.
Federal prosecutors say Caraway took $450,000 in bribes from the owner of a surveillance camera company and an associate.
Caraway then voted in favor of policies supporting the companies.
He could get seven years in prison.
Caraway is a longtime figure in Dallas politics having served on the City Council from 2007 to 2015 until term limits forced him out.
He was elected back in office last year.
