(Dallas, TX) — Dallas County health officials are reporting the county’s first West Nile Virus death of 2018.
Officials confirmed on Tuesday that the patient had been infected with the disease’s more serious neuro-invasive form.
The patient lived in Northwest Dallas just south of I-635.
Health officials released no further details about the patient.
The city hasn’t announced any immediate plans to start spraying for mosquitoes in the patient’s neighborhood.
