(Arlington, TX) — Arlington firefighters will not be joining the effort to fight the massive wildfires in California, and some of them aren’t happy about it.
Arlington Fire Chief Don Crowson is keeping his fire crews at home, unlike dozens of other Texas fire departments that are sending firefighters and equipment to the West Coast.
David Crow, president of the Arlington Professional Firefighters, calls the chief’s decision “embarrassing.”
But Crowson says drought conditions in Texas are such that he prefers to keep his team in town in case they’re needed.
