WW2 Plane Crashes In Central Texas

(Burnet, TX) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash of a vintage World War Two plane on Sunday in central Texas.

The 1944 Douglas C-47 crashed and burned shortly after 9 a.m. during an unsuccessful takeoff attempt at Burnet Municipal Airport, about 55 miles northwest of Austin.

All 13 people on board survived, though seven suffered minor injuries and one was severely burned.

The plane, named the Bluebonnet Belle, was a total loss.
