(San Antonio, TX) — CPS Energy is reporting record-breaking energy usage by Bexar County residents on Monday.
Customers used 5,080 megawatts between 6 and 7 p.m. Monday, a day when temperatures reached 105 degrees.
The previous record was 5,017 megawatts in August 2016.
A CPS executive says the current record usage comes as no surprise amid the recent triple-digit heat.
