(Austin, TX) — A new state audit has discovered that the Texas health agency may have awarded billions of dollars in contracts erroneously.
The Texas State Auditor’s Office announced on Tuesday that it had examined 28 procurements by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and had found errors in the procurement formulas in all of them.
In five of the biggest contracts that were audited, the errors totaled more than three-billion-dollars.
The audit also could not confirm that the contracts had been awarded to the best applicants.
