Album Review: “When I Think Of You In A Castle” by Post Animal

Post Animal’s “When I Think Of You In A Castle” released on April 20th, 2018. This Chicago based rock and roll band debuted their debut full-length album, filled with great diversity. Besides each song has their own unique twinge, the album seemingly melts together into one great piece of music.

The album begins with “Everywhere All At Once,” which is the only acoustic- like song. Its calming vibe is a perfect start to the rest of the songs. My personal favorite, “Gelatin Mode,” is a dynamic shift from a lighthearted vibe into a guitar duel. It transforms the album into a testament of connection. Each song fits right in one after the other, similar to how the members of Post Animal share such a close bond. The album ends with a bonus track, titled “Susie.” It concludes the album on a positive note, and pairs perfectly with how the album started.

Overall, I give this album a 9/10. This album flowed immensely well and told a story unwritten by its lyrics. I would recommend this album to anyone.
