(Kabul, Afghanistan) — A U.S. service member has died as a result of injuries sustained during a “vehicle incident” in Afghanistan.
According to Resolute Support, a NATO-led mission in the Middle Eastern country, the incident was not a result of enemy action. Two other U.S. service members were also injured and are receiving medical treatment. General John Nicholson, Commander of U.S. Forces Afghanistan and the Resolute Support Mission, said in a statement, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own.
Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the families and friends of our fallen and injured comrades.”
