(Buffalo, NY) — Another storm is developing in the East, bringing with it lake-effect snow downwind from lakes Erie and Ontario starting this evening and lasting into Monday morning.
The National Weather Service says motorists in Upstate New York planning to travel along Interstates 81, 86 and 90 may face whiteouts and snow-covered roads. Snowfall could approach or exceed a foot in localized areas. Portions of New England could end up with over a half-foot of snow should the storm strengthen to its full potential.
Residents should prepare for travel delays. Behind the snow will be brutally cold air possibly paving the way for another weather system later this week.
