Lankford: Anti-Trump Texts Don’t Taint Entire Mueller Probe

(Oklahoma City, OK) — A member of the Senate Intelligence Committee says anti-Trump texts sent by an FBI agent did not taint the entire investigative process. The agent once worked on the special counsel’s probe into Russian election meddling.  Oklahoma Republican Senator James Lankford tells CBS’s “Face he Nation” that “it’s something you should look at with any political investigation that he was on at the time.” Lankford adds, “We want our FBI agents to be neutral and to be non-political.  Not very actively engaged politically.” Lankford’s comments follow a move by conservatives to discredit Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
