Houston ISD May Tear Down Harvey-Damaged Schools

(Houston, TX)  —  Houston ISD is considering tearing down and rebuilding four elementary schools damaged by Hurricane Harvey.

District officials say it would cost 126-million dollars to implement the plan for Braeburn, Kolter, Mitchell, and Scarborough elementaries. The schools would be raised in hopes of keeping flooding from happening again.

The board is scheduled to vote on the plan this week.
