(Ventura, CA) — Officials in Southern California say progress is being made against the Thomas Fire in Ventura County. More than 100 crews including 75-hundred firefighters from ten states have worked to gain control of the fire. The fire has scorched over 238-thousand acres since it began eight days ago. More than eleven-hundred structures have been damaged and destroyed in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. The fire is now 30-percent contained. CalFire officials noted that dry, windy conditions will remain through the month.
