(Ventura, CA) — Firefighters are making progress against the wildfires burning across Southern California. Calmer winds have helped the cause, however officials warn residents they are from being “out of the woods,” as critical fire conditions are still in effect The largest blaze is the Thomas Fire in Ventura County which has burned over 148-thousand acres north of Los Angeles. and is just 15 percent contained. Overall, more than 175-thousand acres have been burned and over 793 structures have been destroyed this week.
