Beastie Boys Member Believes Sexual Assault Accusations Against Father

Isreal Horowitz

(Undated) — The father of a Beastie Boys member is the latest public figure accused of sexual misconduct.  The “New York Times” reported Thursday that nine women are accusing Israel Horovitz, an American playwright, of sexual assault. Horovitz is the father of Adam Horovitz, also known by his Beastie Boys rap name Ad-Rock. One of the accusers says Israel raped her in 1989 when she was 19-years-old and dating his son.  Israel Horovitz has written more than 70 plays and was the founding director of the Gloucester Stage theater in Massachusetts. Most of the accusers claim they worked for or were mentored by Israel Horovitz when it happened. He has denied all allegations. Ad-Rock has spoken out and says he believes the nine women and stands behind them.
