(Ventura, CA)  —  Southern California’s Thomas fire covers more than 130-thousand acres.

It’s about ten-percent contained, but Ventura County Fire Chief Mark Lorenzen says weary crews haven’t been able to catch any breaks from the strong Santa Ana winds.

Mandatory evacuations continue in Faria Beach, Carpinteria, Ojai, Santa Paula, La Conchita and surrounding areas. The fire has destroyed and damaged over 400 homes and thousands more remain threatened.
