(Salt Lake City, UT) — President Trump will announce big reductions to the size of the Bears Ears and the Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments when he visits Utah on Monday.
According to the “Washington Post,” Bears Ears will be cut by 85-percent while the Staircase will be cut by half. Maps of the proposed changes also show that both monuments will be split into several smaller monuments.
Five Native American tribes have already signaled they intend to file a lawsuit to stop the President’s actions as soon as he makes the announcement.
