(Waxahachie, TX) — A Waxahachie man is being named Officer of the Year for how much he gives to his community. Officer James Taylor has donated 20 gallons of blood with Carter BloodCare over the past four years. Nine years ago, Taylor was diagnosed with stage four testicular cancer. Blood donations helped save his life, and he says that’s why he’ll be giving blood for a long time.
