(Dallas, TX) — Dallas Area Rapid Transit says it’s increasing its visible security presence after a series of headline-grabbing crimes on its trains.
DART has announced plans to spend millions on guards and equipment. The agency says it hopes to have police or security officers on every one of its trains by early next year. DART’s Operations Safety and Security Committee discussed an outlay of nearly eight-million-dollars to add more safety equipment and several dozen armed guards.
DART is also talking about adding more surveillance cameras.
