(Austin, TX) — Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge is clinging to life at a Texas hospital after a heart procedure.
Ridge was at the Republican Governors Association conference in Austin this morning when he became ill.
The RGA says Ridge’s family and friends are thankful for how quickly paramedics responded and for the doctors and nurses who treated him.
Ridge was the first Homeland Security Secretary from 2003 until 2005, and also served as Pennsylvania governor from 1995 to 2001.
