(Washington, DC) — President Trump says he is close to a decision on a new Fed chief.
In a White House news conference today, Trump said he likes all the people on his short list to head the Federal Reserve. Current Fed Chair Janet Yellen is thought to be on the list. Her term expires early next year.
Other top candidates are reported to be White House economic adviser Gary Cohn [[ cone ]], Stanford University economist John Taylor and former Fed governors Kevin Warsh and Jerome Powell.
