Sentencing For Army Deserter Bowe Bergdahl Set For Monday

Bowe Bergdahl

(Washington, DC)  —  Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl learns his fate tomorrow when he’s sentenced by a military court judge at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Bergdahl pled guilty without any deal with the Army to limit his potential sentence, known as a “naked plea.”  During pre-sentencing procedures, the judge is expected to hear a range of testimony from witnesses over several days. Prosecutors will likely present evidence that three service members were severely injured during search-and-rescue missions for the missing soldier who was held by the Taliban after walking off his post. Meanwhile in an interview with the “Sunday Times of London,” Bergdahl says life back in the U.S. is as hard as being a Taliban prisoner.
