Researchers Believe Loud Music Is Not The Cause Of Ear Damage

(Dallas, TX)  —  A study from the University of Texas at Dallas says loud music may not lead to permanent ear damage. Researchers at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders discovered that after attending a loud event, such as a music festival, study participants showed no change in neural function or the function of sensory hair cells in the inner ear. Researchers said even subjects who had extreme exposure had only temporary changes on some tests, with no evidence of permanent damage.
