(Dallas, TX) — A Dallas police officer is being honored for saving an infant’s life at the State Fair of Texas. Police say officer Ilse Casas took immediate action when he found a frantic mother with an unresponsive baby in her arms earlier this month. He placed the baby on the ground in a grassy area and performed CPR until a medical unit arrived. The infant was rushed to the hospital and was released shortly after in good condition. Paramedics said if it weren’t for Casas’ quick action, the situation could have ended tragically. Casas was presented with a Life Saving Award.
