(Washington, DC) — The House is expanding sanctions on Iran.
The sanctions are intended to punish the outlaw nation for its development of ballistic missiles and support of Hezbollah.
The action comes weeks after President Trump declined to certify that Tehran is complying with an international accord to curb its nuclear weapons program. The sanctions targeting Iran’s ballistic missile program and Hezbollah all passed the House easily today with bipartisan support. Iran is designated by the State Department as a state sponsor of terrorism.
