Amazon Effort To Hire 50,000 Falls Short

(Seattle, WA)  —  Online retail giant Amazon is still looking to fill positions after less than half the people they need applied at a nationwide jobs event yesterday.  The company is looking to hire 50-thousand people but only 20-thousand showed up to apply on “Amazon Jobs Day.”

The company wants to hire 130-thousand people by the middle of next year but is running up against the lowest unemployment numbers in 16 years.
