(Atlanta, GA) — While some companies throw office Christmas parties this time of year, the mood is less festive at one Atlanta-based social media company.
Yik Yak announced yesterday that it has laid off 60 percent of its workforce.
The layoffs come a year after the company’s worth was estimated at 400-million dollars.
Yik Yak has seen a drop in popularity, though, since it stopped allowing users to post messages anonymously.
One ex-employee tells the “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” they can’t see how the company can continue.
