Texas Executions Hit 20-Year Low

prison(Huntsville, TX) — Executions by the state of Texas may hit a 20-year low by year’s end.

Only seven people have been put to death so far in 2016 with only one execution scheduled this month, and even that execution has now been stayed.

On Friday, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals issued a stay for John Battaglia for the murders of his two young daughters.

Last year, Texas executed thirteen prisoners.
