(San Francisco, CA) — The technician who died on the set of Cirque du Soleil in San Francisco is being identified as the son of one of the show’s founders.
Officials confirm Olivier Rochette, whose father co-founded the acrobatics troupe in 1984, died during the set-up for the Luzia show on Tuesday.
They say Rochette succumbed to major injuries after he was accidentally hit by a lift.
Cal-OSHA is investigating the incident.
Cirque du Soleil is canceling both of tonight’s Luzia shows.
