(Austin, TX)  —  Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is apologizing for calling Hillary Clinton the “c-word.”

A campaign statement says the tweet was deleted as quickly as possible after it was posted and Miller is sorry to anyone “who may have seen it.”

A spokesperson originally claimed the account was hacked and no one on Miller’s team would ever think to send out a tweet like it.

The vulgar phrase was used in a tweet this afternoon on a new presidential poll out of Pennsylvania showing Republican Donald Trump ahead by a point.

It’s not the first time Miller has put out something controversial on social media.

His official campaign Facebook page compared refugees to rattlesnakes and also shared an image of an atomic explosion with the caption, “It’s time we made peace with the Muslim world.”  The photo was later taken down.
