(Austin, TX) — A controversial textbook on Mexican-American studies is being rejected unanimously by the Texas State Board of Education in a preliminary vote, but the final vote tomorrow may be different. Hispanic activists describe the text as “racist” and “inaccurate”, but it was the only text submitted for consideration. Meantime, the Texas Freedom Network claims board member David Bradley of Beaumont, who was not at yesterday’s meeting, may cast a dissenting vote at tomorrow’s final tally in Austin. The left-leaning group obtained an email from Bradley that states the book would still fail if he or someone else denies the Hispanics “a record vote.”
