(Pittsburgh, PA) — The inventor of the Big Mac is dead.
McDonald’s confirmed that Michael “Jim” Delligatti died at his home near Pittsburgh Monday at age 98.
Delligatti created the Big Mac with two-all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese in 1967 at his Uniontown, Pennsylvania restaurant.
The iconic burger is today sold more than 100 countries around the world.
He also helped create the hotcakes and sausage meal in order to feed steel workers getting off the night shift.
