(Frisco, TX) — Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is getting closer to returning to action.
Team owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday on The Fan in Dallas that an MRI on Romo’s back showed the compression fracture has healed and he “has no more concern about this injury.”
Jones did not give a timetable on his return, but added that doctors have told him that Romo’s vertebra “should be as strong or stronger than it was before the injury.”
Jones also said that it’s a matter of Romo getting back into shape.
With the strong play of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, Jones said “it’s a miracle problem to have” and that it will allow Romo to not rush back.
Prescott has the Cowboys atop the NFC East at 4-and-1.
Dallas visits Green Bay this Sunday before having a bye week.
