(Sacramento, CA) — Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is doing just fine after taking a pie in the face, but the man who attacked him is facing felony charges.
Sacramento police say 32-year-old Sean Thompson suffered minor injuries after the mayor landed several punches in self-defense thinking he had been punched by the assailant.
Thompson was charged with assaulting a public official and remains behind bars on 100-thousand-dollars’ bail.
Johnson was attending at a farm-to-fork charity event last night when Thompson pulled a pie from a bag and shoved it in the mayor’s face.
