(Alpine, TX) — Schools in the West Texas city of Alpine will reopen Monday, so teachers and staff can train today on how to help students and their families cope with yesterday’s fatal shooting at the local high school.
Police say a 14-year-old freshman shot and killed herself after wounding another student.
Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson says the shooter was a very good student, so authorities hope to find out what triggered the incident. Injuries to the wounded student didn’t appear to be life-threatening.
