Thousands of people in Lubbock are registered users of Ashley Madison, one the world’s most famous cheating websites.
Of the more than 32 million registered members who had their data stolen and published by hackers, a Spanish website is reporting that almost 16,000 accounts were from Lubbock.
Ashley Madison is the most famous name in infidelity and married dating, reads the website, whose slogan is “Life is short. Have an affair.” The company’s user data was leaked in July by a group of hackers called The Impact Team and included names, passwords, addresses and phone numbers of its users.
The analysis revealed 15,869 accounts registered in Lubbock, roughly one for every 15 residents. It also showed 253 users in Wolfforth, 139 in Shallowater, 196 for Slaton and 81 for Idalou.
