Juan Garcia was executed Tuesday night for shooting Hugo Solano to death in September 1998 over eight-dollars.
Garcia asked the Solano family to forgive him for bringing suffering to them and that he hopes his death brings them closure. He also thanked them for the card they sent him, although it isn’t known what the card said.
He also told his family he loved them very much, and that he was passing his spirit to his mother-in-law.
Garcia is the eleventh person to be executed in Texas this year. Another execution is scheduled for next week.
