ttuAfter eliminating number two Texas Christian University in the Big 12 Championship tournament on Thursday, Texas Tech baseball looked to advanced against the Baylor Bears in Tulsa, Oklahoma Friday evening.

Unfortunately, the Red Raiders came up short.

Tech was eliminated from tournament contention on Friday, falling to the Baylor Bears 5-4.

Anthony Lyons, Tanner Gardner, Michael Davis, and Tyler Floyd all scored for Tech, but it was not enough to down the eighth seeded Bears. According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, coach Tim Tadlock believes execution was to blame for the loss.

“We had some plays in there that were just baseball. I am kicking myself a little bit. There were a couple of times where we could have executed some small things and put a run on the board. We chose to go another route and when that happens you say, ‘Man that guy managing really kicked that one.’”

The Red Raiders finish their season 31-24 overall, 13-11 in conference play.

NCAA tournament bids will be announced Monday. It is unlikely the Red Raiders will receive one.
